HISTORICAL RESEARCH
We strive to make Axis as historically accurate as possible. USC history major and World War II enthusiast Alexandra Campbell has agreed to spearhead our detailed research into this most complex historical era. She is currently compiling a library of books, archival photographs, wartime film footage, and film footage of Berlin immediately after the end of the war to use as a guide in making our production design decisions. We are also consulting members of the USC History department faculty, as well as reaching out to other notable historians in the Southern California area, including professors at UCLA, UCSB and Stanford University. Our greatest resource, of course, remains Ilse-Margret Vogel, and we continue to probe her remarkable memory for details of wartime Berlin. Ilse has already sketched several drawings of her house to aid the production design team, and has even agreed to paint the pictures that will be critical props in the film. |
